ARN-72 TACAN Radio
Introduction
The TACAN system is a navigational aid, capable of providing bearing and slant range in nautical miles to a surface beacon.
The AN/ARN-72 TACAN features a powerful receiver-transmitter that functions as an airborne interrogator-responser to provide range information to other AN/ARN-72 TACAN equipped airplanes as well as slant range to surface beacons.
Controls
Dual Rotary Switch - Outer Knob
The outer knob selects the first two digits (0 - 12) of the TACAN channel selection.
Dual Rotary Switch - Inner Knob
The inner knob selects the last digit (0-9) of the TACAN channel selection.
Volume Control Knob
This control regulates the volume of the signal to the headset.
Power Switch
The power switch has four positions: OFF, REC, T/R, A/A.

Tacan Range Indicator
Displays range to the station in nautical miles.
