Descent
In order to decrease the possibility of canopy fogging, the canopy and windshield defrosting systems should be operated at the highest flow possible throughout the flight. Sufficient flow will preheat the canopy to keep the glass temperature above the cockpit dew point. Preheating is necessary as there is not enough time during rapid descents to heat the canopy. Maintain engine speed above 83% rpm.
- Pilot heat - ON
- Canopy and windshield defrost lever - As required.
- IFF/SIF/AIMS - Set as required.
- Altimeter - Set and check RESET vs STBY.
- Damper switches - STANDBY (OFF).
- Oxygen - As required.
- Fuel quantity - Check.
